I am the daughter of P.V. Satyan and Sheeba Satyan, wife of Vishnu Sasi, and mother to Aiven. I have embraced many roles in life, yet one passion has remained constant: dance.
My journey began at the age of four, when I started learning Mohiniyattam under Guru Smt. Geetha Vijayshankar, training devotedly for ten years. Eager to explore new dimensions of movement, I later pursued Contemporary and Hip-Hop at the Shiamak Davar Dance Institute, broadening my artistic expression and versatility.
Now based in Toronto, Canada, I continue to nurture my love for dance while balancing my professional career. I hold a Master’s degree in Technology (Engineering) and work as a Data Analyst Manager in the banking sector. For me, dance is more than an art form; it is a rhythm that grows, evolves, and moves with every chapter of my life.
I started learning Bharatanatyam when I was three years old, and somewhere along the way, it stopped being just a class and became a part of who I am. Dance has shaped my discipline, my patience, and the way I express myself.
For me, Bharatanatyam is more than performance. It is tradition, devotion, and storytelling.
I have had the blessing of performing in over 250 programs and completing my Rangapravesam under the guidance of my Guru. Every stage has taught me something new about confidence, humility, and responsibility to the tradition.
I see dance as something sacred. It connects me to my roots while allowing me to grow as an individual. No matter where life takes me, Bharatanatyam will always be home.
My dance journey began at the age of five when I started learning Bharatanatyam. Although I didn't complete my formal training, my passion for dance never faded. As I got older, I found my way back to dance through cultural events and performances. Dance has become a meaningful way for me to express myself, connect with others, and celebrate my culture, and I'm excited to continue growing and creating new memories through it.
I have over ten years of dance experience, beginning my training in Contemporary and Lyrical before expanding into Hip-Hop, Jazz, Ballet, Kuthu, Bollywood, Tap, and Musical Theatre. Throughout my journey, I have competed in numerous competitions, performed in a variety of shows, and contributed to several dance projects.
Most recently, I have begun training in Semi-Classical dance, a style I have quickly developed a strong passion for. I am honoured to be part of this team and look forward to continuing to grow, learn, and develop as an artist.
My passion for dance started at the age of 4, when I first began learning Bharathanatyam. My love for dance comes from my mother who is my first guru in the art. Over the past 10 years, I have trained in Bharathanatyam under my guru Nivedha Ramalingam at Bharathalaya Dance Academy. I later began to explore Bollywood, kuthu, semi classical kathak, hip hop and other fusion styles, now dancing with two university dance teams. Outside of dance, I am a full time student at the University of Toronto pursuing a double major in neuroscience and human biology, striving for a career in the field of research. I am also a singer and violinist!
I have dreamt of being a Kathak dancer since childhood, beginning my journey through cultural event performances and self-taught choreographies. In 8th grade, my passion took formal shape under Guru Dr. Manisha Yadav at Akhil Bharatiya Gandharva Mahavidyalaya Mandal in Mumbai, where I have trained for the past six years. Kathak has since become my discipline, devotion, and identity.
I am currently preparing for my Madhyama Poorna exam, with aspirations of pursuing my Visharad and continuing to immerse myself in the classical arts. Alongside my training, I continue to choreograph, perform, and share my journey on stage, through social media, and as a choreographer with my university dance team.
I began my dance journey at a young age, training in Bharatanatyam under Shri Mallika Jayanti at a traditional gurukal in Omaha, Nebraska. For eight years, I built a strong classical foundation and developed a natural love for performing, whether for loved ones or on stage.
As I grew as an artist, I explored styles including Hip-Hop, Bollywood Fusion, Kathak, and Kuthu, eventually finding my passion in Bollywood Fusion and Hip-Hop. Today, I blend the discipline of my classical roots with modern creativity in my performances and choreography.
Outside of dance, I am a full-time Neuroscience student at the University of Toronto, working toward my dream of becoming a well-reputed doctor. Despite my demanding academic path, I continue creating original choreographies for my dance account, staying connected to my first love as I prepare to rekindle my journey in classical dance.
I am the daughter of Mukti and Sameer Shah, and I began my Kathak journey at the age of ten. Guided by my passion for the art, I completed my Visharad under Guru Jigna Mehta and later my Alankar under Smt. Dyuti Joshi. My training was further enriched through workshops with renowned artists including the late Pt. Birju Maharaj ji, Vidushi Durga Arya ji, Smt. Saswati Sen, and Dr. Puru Dadheech ji, deepening both my knowledge and love for Kathak.
In 2019, I moved to Canada to pursue postgraduate studies in Human Resource Management and Business Administration at York University. Alongside my professional career as a Talent Acquisition Specialist, I continue to nurture my artistic journey with equal passion. With the constant support of my husband, Yash Shah, and my family, I have reconnected with Kathak with renewed dedication, performing at cultural events such as Toronto Pathotsav (Anoopam Mission) in 2024 and 2025, as well as with Panwar Music & Dance since 2024.
Dancing was always something that intrigued me when I was little. I started dancing Bharatnatyam when I was nine years old at Sri Abiramy Dance Academy. I continued dancing until COVID-19 hit in 2020. Seven years of my life I dedicated to mastering this style of dance, which I loved. When the pandemic hit and I was no longer able to continue practices virtually, it felt like a part of me was missing. I kept dancing on my own and participated in different dance events in school and university. But I always felt like something was missing until I found the Nirtya Padakhep dance group, where I was able to reconnect with Bharatnatyam once more. Not only that, I was able to learn new dance styles I never tried before; I also reignited my passion for dancing.
I was born in India and raised in Qatar, where I began my Bharatanatyam training at the age of seven under Guru Smt. Dimple Rajesh. What started as a childhood pursuit soon became a lifelong passion, leading me to complete the seven-year Certified Foundation Course (Prarambhika and Kovida levels) from the Nalanda Dance Research Centre, Mumbai.
I have represented my country on international stages, including the Inaugural Ceremony of RasGas Train 6 LNG under the patronage of Her Highness Sheikha Mozah Bint Nasser Al Missned, and have received multiple awards for excellence in Bharatanatyam. Alongside classical dance, I also perform folk and Bollywood styles, bringing versatility and vibrant expression to my art.
Now based in Canada, I continue to perform at major cultural and community events while balancing my creative and professional pursuits. Beyond dance, I hold a Bachelor’s (Hons.) in Chemical Engineering from BITS Pilani, Dubai, and an MBA from McMaster University. I currently work as a Product Marketing Manager–Sr. Advisor.
